This school year is approaching quickly!  We will list the dates and activities as soon as we have them ready!  We are excited for a great new school year and all the excitement that it brings!

2010-2011 PTSO Elected Positions

 Pearl Harbor Elementary PTSO elections will be held in May.  We are looking for volunteers to help fill the PTSO board for the 2010-2011 school year.  Please look over the elected positions that are available.  If you would like more information about any of these positions please email us at phesptso@yahoo.com .  We would be happy to answer any questions you may have. 

Book Fair Night was February 2nd from 6:00pm to 7:30pm in the Cafeteria.   It was a lot of fun.  We had a great time playing 'word bingo'.  Mrs Glenn, Mrs Smalley, and Mr Z were our card readers and did a great job.  Everyone had a really great time.  The book Fair will run until the 8th of Feb so be sure to stop by the Library to check out some great buys and enjoy reading together as a family! 

Mrs Savidge has been at Pearl Harbor Elementary since 1990.  She started as a vice-principal and then in 1997 became the principal.  She was a teacher at Radford High School before coming to Pearl Harbor Elementary.  She has been a great example for so many teachers, students, and parents over the years!

I want to let all the parents know how much help and support Mrs Savidge has been this year to the PTSO.  She has been such a great support and has been open to so many of the things we have wanted to do.  We will truly miss her!

Our last parent coffee/Principal Round Table of the school year will be held on May 11th at 9:00 am in P1 by the libarary, children are welcome. 

If you would like to help rake the ground and plant grass seed please join us at the new playground next Thursday, Sept. 3 from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m.

Thank you to those who came and helped clean up, rake and plant grass around our new playground.  We should have the inspection by the DOE on Sept 17th.  Thank you to Kimo, Jayson, and Troy of the Custodial Staff who were there to help and the volunteers: Katrina Villarreal, Kim Blair, Catherine Keith, Lynn Pendergrass, Teddi Thorpe, Staci Packer, and Ursula Pratt.
